Carly Ferguson grew up in Chilliwack and brings extensive marketing, sales and management experience to her position as publisher of the Chilliwack Progress. She joined Black Press in 2007 and after a short time at the Langley Times, assumed the role of advertising manager at the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows News. Following the successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications from Simon Fraser University, Ferguson’s professional career included fundraising and public relations roles with Big Brothers Big Sisters and United Way, and advertising and promotion responsibilities in Prospera Credit Union’s marketing department. During her tenure at Black Press Ferguson has completed the Certificate in Executive Management and Leadership from Thompson Rivers University. In 2011 she was the recipient of the Suburban Newspaper Association of America Advertising Manager of the Year.

Kerrie-Ann Schoenit has been the editor of The Hope Standard since 2011. As the main reporter and photographer for the newspaper, she covers local council, police, fire, entertainment and community news. She has worked for Black Press newspapers in the Lower Mainland and Greater Victoria area since 2008.

Janice McDonald joined The Hope Standard team in 2007. Janice was raised in Hope and is happy to have raised her own family in the community. Prior to coming to The Hope Standard, Janice and her husband owned and operated a retail store in Hope for 18 years.

Pattie Desjardins has worked at The Hope Standard since 1991. Over her 20+ years with The Standard, Pattie has worked in advertising sales, classifieds and circulation departments and as a result has extensive knowledge about the community of Hope and the newspaper itself.
