A drug raid at a residence about 12 kilometres north of Hope has resulted in five arrests.

Local RCMP, along with the Chilliwack RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant for a marijuana grow operation on Aug. 5 in the 27300 block of Dogwood Valley Road.

Police seized 719 plants in different stages of growth, five pounds of dry cannabis bud, 145 grams of hash and a pistol grip shotgun from a detached garage on the property. The estimated street value of the drugs totaled $30,000.

A 43-year-old woman from Delta, a 33-year-old man from Salt Spring Island, a 44-year-old man from New Westminster as well a 60-year-old woman, 56-year-old woman and 42 year-old-man from Surrey were arrested and released on a promise to appear in court in December. They all face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, and theft of telecommunications.
