Gun used in Boston Bar assault

John Christopher Campbell has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and breach of probation

A 46-year-old Boston Bar man is facing several charges after an altercation with his girlfriend.

Hope RCMP received a call on Oct. 1 at about 2 p.m. from a woman stating that her boyfriend had fired a gun at her.

She told police that shortly after midnight, she dropped her boyfriend off at his home on Highway 1 and an argument ensued. The woman was not injured in the incident.

John Christopher Campbell was arrested the next day at his home, where police seized several items including a gun, ammunition and spent casings.

Campbell has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and breach of probation. He was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 11.
