VIDEO: Outbuilding burnt down in late night Aldergrove fire

No injuries reported

An outbuilding behind an occupied detached home burnt down late Tuesday night, Dec. 19, in Aldergrove.

Around 10:40 p.m., Langley Township firefighters and Langley RCMP responded to reports of a residential fire in the area of 250th Street and 52nd Avenue.

A local resident, who didn’t want their name used, told the Langley Advance Times they witnessed the building go “up quickly” but the fire department arrived and kept it from spreading.

“The structure was fully engulfed when our team arrived, but managed to keep it contained,” said Cory Parker, deputy fire chief.

Two cars were inside the building and completely destroyed.

“It’s still under investigation. Our investigators are on scene,” Parker noted.

The fire is not noted as suspicious, said Craig van Herk with the Langley RCMP.

No injuries were reported.
