The police watchdog is appealing for witnesses after a Saturday-night collision between an on-duty Vancouver Police officer and a pedestrian.

The crash, which happened near Knight Street and East 20 Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m., sent a pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries.

In a Thursday news release, the Independent Investigations Office asked anyone who saw an unmarked grey police SUV travelling southbound on Knight Street near the intersection of 20 Avenue at approximately 9:39 p.m. to call the witness line at 1-855-446-8477.
