Victim Services will commemorate Victims and Survivors of Crime Week with a meet and greet information display at the Fraser Valley Regional Library in Hope this Friday from 11-2 p.m.

Come join us for coffee and cake. Meet the victim service staff and learn about services available to you, your rights as a victim and let us know what matters to you.

We are hoping to offer future workshops on topics of interest to community members. Seniors, sexual assault safety, child safety, fraud prevention etc. Come check out our display and let us know what you are interested in.

“Empowering Resilience” is the theme of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week, taking place across Canada from May 28 to June 3 this year.

Victims and Survivors of Crime Week is held to raise awareness about issues facing victims and survivors of crime and the services, programs, and laws in place to help them and their families. The Hope/Boston Bar RCMP Victim Services Program is proud to be hosting an event to commemorate the week in our community.

The Victims and Survivors of Crime Week is an important event for our community because many are impacted by senseless crimes and tragic events and need support and assistance. Victims and survivors of crime have been through traumatic experiences, but many use their personal resilience to move beyond their victimization and to create positive change.

Throughout Canada, countless dedicated people work with victims and survivors of crime every day. Service providers and criminal justice professionals give information and meaningful support to victims and survivors and their families as they navigate the criminal justice system.

Learn about the great work that Victim Services is involved in: Purple Light Nights, Violence Against Women in Relationship committee, trauma-informed yoga, child and youth safety initiatives, community and school talks, Halloween safety, reflective toques for street safety etc.

The Victim Services program is available for all citizens and it is our goal to make sure you have access to the information that you may need when a crisis hits. Please feel free to call us at 604-869-7770.
