CHERNASK, Edward

Edward Chernask of Hope, BC was born in Rainy River, Ontario on June 30, 1921, and passed away at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, BC on February 7, 2008.

He grew up in Fort Frances, Ontario and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force shortly after graduating from high school. After retiring in 1986 he spent half of the year in Arizona and the other half tending to his garden in Hope, BC. Ed was happiest when he was busy enjoying the outdoors. His hobbies were golf, gardening and bending someone's ear with a tall tale. Ed was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion serving as president for several years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alice, of 60 years, their children: Dal (Roseann), Lori (Robin), and grandchildren: Tanya, Tyson, Stephen and Sheena.
