Esther Hepburn Pattison Ward, formerly of Hope, died suddenly at her home in Kelowna on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the age of 65. Esther was born on August 29, 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland to parents Mary and Henry Pattison.
Esther will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 37 years, Peter, sons Patrick (Karen) and Barry (Sage), grand-daughters Erika and Kayla, sisters May (Bill) and Ruby (Jim), aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends, all of whom are grateful for the joy and laughter that Esther brought to them.
Esther was taken to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, March 11, 2011 for prayers with the family where she remained until her funeral mass was held by Fr. Peter Tompkins at 10 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2011 followed by cremation at Springfield Funeral Home. Fr. Peter Altamirano will hold a memorial mass in Hope at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church at 11 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 followed by refreshments in the church hall generously provided by the Catholic Ladies Auxiliary.
The family requests that donations to the Hope Community Services Food Bank be made in lieu of flowers. A box will be available for food or cheque donations at the entrance to the church.
