BOWMAN, Hilda May
Hilda Bowman passed away on March 22, 2008 at the age of 75. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Winona and William Neilsen, grandson William and sister-in-law Velma Neilsen. She is survived by her husband Bob, children: Grace, Bob, Bill, Kay, Sheila, John, Shannon and their spouses, 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister: Sheila (Danny), brother: Les (Donna), and a large extended family.
There is no service by request. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society.
Hilda and Bob were married for over 59 years and lived in the Lower Mainland throughout their married life. Hilda was a strong willed, feisty lady who fought her failing health to the very end. She worked hard all her life and would do anything for her family and friends. She loved her family unconditionally and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She baked great pies and tarts.
Hilda was a 32 year member of the Eagles Lady Auxiliary in Blaine, Langley and finally here in Hope. She was past president and a very active member until her health got too bad to continue. She seldom missed a Friday night of bingo at the Eagles or a crib game if someone would play.
Hilda will be missed by so many that it's impossible to list them all. Her family will miss her for the rest of their lives but know that she is playing bingo with all her friends and her mother right now.
Rest easy Mom and be assured we'll take good care of Dad. We love you.
