HAYNES, Kenneth W.G.

February 4, 1923 - April 20, 2008

Ken passed away April 20th at Fraser Hope Lodge, in Hope B.C. after a long fight with his illness.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary, three sons; Stephen (Jean), Ross (Carol) and Glenn (Judy), four grandchildren; Crystal (Mark), Curtis, John (Danielle), and Lisa (Brad), four great grandchildren, and brother Laurie. He was predeceased by grandson Rob and his brothers Raymond, Louis and Harry.

Ken was born in Victoria and as young boy moved to Tatlayoko Lake with his family where they homesteaded. After World War II, during which Ken served in the Calgary Tank Regiment overseas, he returned to take up ranching at Tatlayoko Lake for 27 years. They moved to Hope in 1973 where he worked for the Department of Agriculture until his retirement.

Thank you to our many friends who helped throughout this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Christie and the nursing staff at the Fraser Hope Lodge for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fraser Hope Lodge would be appreciated. A Memorial Service was held on April 27, 2008 at the Legion Hall with Rev. Ken Wotherspoon officiating.
