Linda Joan Chaffer

Linda Joan Chaffer passed away suddenly on January 3, 2008 at 60 years of age. Linda was born in Drumheller Alberta on December 14, 1947 spending the better part of her life in Hope B.C. She lived in various places but loved Hope and no matter where she moved she always came back here. It was definitely home. Linda's door was always open and although she didn't have much she was always willing to give it. She spent the last 4 years traveling back and forth to Regina, lovingly caring for her mom Ada, who was ill. Before that she helped care for her good friend Shirley Sleasman, not to mention the endless time she spent looking out for her children. She loved everyone unconditionally and had a gentle heart and giving spirit. We love you mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. We will lock your memory in our hearts forever and strive to be a better people because of you.

Linda was predeceased by husband; Terry Chaffer, parents; Ada Belle Olson and Anthony Peter Volpatti, sisters; Lettie Rundberg, Karen Volpatti, Lorrie Volpatti, brothers; Jerry Volpatti, Johnny Volpatti, Benjamin Volpatti. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her children; Kenny and Corrine Chaffer, Ronnie and Cheryl Chaffer, Terrilyn and Sean Gillies, Geri-Rene and Dan Arsenuik, sister; Rene and Brian Wandler, brother-in-law; Lionel Rundberg, sisters-in-law; Jean Elrick, June Deegan and step father; Murray McKay. Grandma Linda is greatly treasured and will be sadly missed by all her grandchildren; Terry and Travis Chaffer; Skylar and Cole Hasell, Hope and Brooke Gillies; Taylor, Michael and Paige Arsenuik; little Terrilyn and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and loyal friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, the staff in the ICU at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, the B.C. Ambulance service and a special thanks to nurses Susan and Michelle for their extra kindness towards our mother and our family. We are also grateful for the instant connection made with PASTOR Jeff that brought comfort. Thanks once again for the heartfelt outpouring of love in this community from all family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc., or the BC Cancer Foundation. A Celebration of Life was held on January 8, 2008 at the Grace Baptist Church, Hope BC.
