BRUCE, Mary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Elisabeth Bruce on March 25, 2011. She is survived by her son Ron (Judy) of Hope, daughter Jennifer Burch of Oliver, grandson Colin (Natasha) of Maple Ridge, granddaughter Carmen Von Takach (Anthony) of Sydney, Australia, grandsons Tyler and Todd Johnston of Vancouver and great-grandson Callum Bruce. She also leaves behind two sisters, Vera McLaren and Sonja Yale. Her husband of 53 years, Alex, predeceased her.
Mary was a woman with a kind and gentle heart that lovingly cared for her mother-in-law for many years. She was a skilled seamstress and a wonderful gardener. She enjoyed many memorable trips on the open road throughout Canada and the United States with Alex. The family and many friends she made throughout the years will miss Mary. As well, we will fondly remember her love of "Scrabble", scrumptious baking and her nightly ritual of 10 o'clock toast. Mary was a deeply spiritual woman. Throughout her illness she was very peaceful and confident of the love of her God, Jehovah. A memorial service was held 1 P.M., March 30 at the Kingdom Hall in Hope, BC.
