Mr. Newton Reid Brydon, DFC, Mid, QJM passed away on June 29, 2007 in Hope, B.C. at the age of 86 years. He was predeceased by his son: Allison Newton Brydon in 1994, and his brothers: Louis and Francis.
Newton is survived by his loving family; wife: Margaret, children: Sheila (David) Blair and Darrell Brydon, grandchildren: Karyn (Dave Fullerton) Stewart, Andrew (Suzanne) Stewart, Jillian (Wes) Haywood and Bobbi (Michael) Rothball, and great grandchildren: Rachel, Scarlett Rose, Elisabet, Jace and Teryn, sisters: Norma Best of Wolfville, N.S. and Madeline Gibson of Markham, ON, stepbrother: Harold Brydon and his dog, Tessa.
Newton was a member of the Caterpillar Club, past President of the Hope Legion for 4 years, past President of the Air Force Officer’s Association in Vancouver, B.C., a member of the Air Force Association in Chilliwack, B.C. Newton was a wonderful husband and father and received many awards as Salesman of the Year. He will always be remembered for his humor, honesty, and love for his family.
A Traditional Service will be held on Saturday, July 07, 2007 @ 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall Branch #228 at 344 Fort Street, Hope, B.C. with Viewing taking place between 1:00-1:30 p.m. Legion Chaplain Ken Wotherspoon will be officiating. A Burial will take place at The Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery in Hope, B.C. following the Service, with a Reception to be held back at the Legion Hall afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospital in memory of Newton.
