Paul Kaji

January 31, 1974 - August 20, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Kaji announce his sudden passing at his home at age 43. He will be greatly missed by his parents Linda and Steve (Donna), sisters Sami and Tami, loving partner Monica Cummins, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends from near and far and his dog, Colton. He will be remembered for his smile and hugs, quirky sense of humour, his love for the outdoors, skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing and a love for all animals, especially his dog. He loved to cook and would always have something on the barbecue to share when friends dropped by. Thank-you to Hope's first responders and his special neighbours for their efforts and compassion at a difficult time. In lieu of flowers please donate to your charity of choice or any animal welfare charity such as the SPCA or a rescue. No service is planned at this time.

A poem by e.e.cummings

i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)

i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear;

and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)

i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant

and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows

higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
