RAINBOW, Reginald

On Tuesday, May 10, my Mom, brothers, sister and sister-in-law, were blessed to spend the afternoon with my Dad, Reginald Frank Rainbow, before he left us peacefully in the early evening. Reg was born in Regina, SK in the summer of 1937 and at 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, serving for 5 years. At the end of his commission, he met our Mother, Margaret, and they were married in the summer of 1959. The years sped by with us four children, our home in Ladner, BC, our Dad’s work as a Chef Instructor at NDSS, and the many activities that came along. When our parents both left teaching, they moved up to Kawkawa Lake in Hope, BC and enjoyed a fun and full retirement and entertained their eight grandchildren often. Several years ago, Dad suffered a series of debilitating strokes and spent the last few years in the caring hands of the folks at the Fraser Hope Lodge. My Mom visited him every day.

A private, family service was held at Hope United Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Auxiliary to the Fraser Hope Lodge.

His life was full of blessings and we, in turn, are very grateful for his presence in our lives.
