Robert Adair Burrell
October 1, 1937 to June 30, 2017
With heavy hearts, the family must announce the passing of their beloved dad Bob, after a short but very courageous battle with cancer. Bob was predeceased by his lifelong companion, Faye. He is the lucky owner of his dog Bella. Bob is the father to Laura, Bobby (Tracey), David (Britt), Shawna (Scott), and Guy (Kathleen). Bob is the grandfather to Robin, Byron, Kyle, Melissa, Sean, Sarah, Isabella, Brody, and Kennedy; great grandfather to Liam and Enya. During Bob’s time with us, he also cared for ninety foster children.
Upon retiring to Hope, BC in 2004, Bob enjoyed an active life through his involvement with many volunteer and social clubs, such as Communities in Bloom, Garden Club, Community Garden, Canyon Golden Agers (club president for many years), Lunch with the Bunch, and The Breakfast Club. Bob was an avid fisherman and an active voice with the British Columbia Old Age Pensioners’ Organization, acting as a Regional Director (North Fraser District).
Through his involvement in the community, Bob forged many valuable friendships. The family of Bob would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the many friends and caring team at Fraser Canyon Hospital for their compassion during Bob’s final journey. Memorial Celebration will be held on Aug. 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Canyon Golden Age Club.
