Sam (Bror Samuel)

Sam (Bror Samuel) Meden passed away peacefully May 21 in Chilliwack Hospital after a short illness. Sam was born May 22, 1930 in Skattunbyne, Sweden. In 1957 he immigrated to Canada with Kerstin, Pia, Allen and Soren. They journeyed from Sweden to Vancouver via New York and California. Sam enjoyed his work in Hope with the Murakami Medical Clinic and later with G&F Logging. He is survived by his beloved family: wife Marilyn: daughter Christine (Lorne) and grandchildren Kalila and Rhianon; son Erik (Eve); stepson Ian (Gerry); and close friend Maggie Ramsay (Franco). He is also survived by former wife Kerstin and extended family as well as sisters Mia, Ingrid, Gitta and their families, all in Sweden.

Friends and acquaintances are warmly invited to a Farewell Gathering at the Meden home, 65707 Kawkawa Lake Road on Sunday June 8th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Parking is limited at the house. Please consider parking on the Kettle Valley Road, at Polly's, or in the subdivision across the street. We look forward to sharing memories of Sam's (almost) 50 years in Hope, with you. No flowers by request, donations to a charity of your choice.
