HAROLDSON, Stanley George

July 15, 1931- July 18, 2016

My best friend, my husband, my love, sadly left this world on July 18, 2016. What’s left is an immeasurable hole that will never be filled. Stan was born in Rainy River, Ontario to Karen and Emmanuel Haroldson. At an early age, Stan, his sisters Elsie and Carol and his parents moved to Pacific, BC and then to Endako. In 1951, Stan moved to Burns Lake where he met his future wife, Sylvia. After several moves, Stan and Sylvia settled in Hope in 1957.

Stan was a jack of all trades. His many jobs included telegraph operator, truck driver, fisherman, cement finisher, cabinet maker, construction worker, house builder and apartment landlord. There was not a job that Stan couldn’t do nor a broken item that couldn’t be fixed.

Stan enjoyed fishing, skiing, playing bridge and family gatherings. His favourite vacation spots included Fish Lake and National Parks in the United States. Stan was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Sylvia, his children, Glenn (Linda) Haroldson, Terry (Sonja) Haroldson, Lynne (John) Kay and Wendy (Gord) Catt, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and his sister Elsie (Ove) Johannesen. He was predeceased by his son, Bruce, in 1981, his sister, Carole in 1988, and his grandson, Ryan, in 2015.

Rest in peace my love.

Please join the family for an informal gathering and refreshments on July 29th, 2016 between 1 and 4:00 at Stan’s home, 19899 Silver Hope Road.
