The Recreation Centre in Hope will soon be saying farewell to one of its longstanding employees.

Milly Marshall, the Director of Recreation, Culture and Airpark Services has accepted a new project management position at the Fraser Valley Regional District’s (FVRD) headquarters in Chilliwack.

“Ms. Marshall is a valued member of our management team and her leadership at the Recreation Centre has been extraordinary,” said FVRD chief administrative officer Paul Gipps. “She has been a key player in bringing high quality recreation services to residents in Hope and Electoral Areas A and B.”

Marshall began her career at the FVRD in 1997 progressing up to managing the facility in 2006.

“As our organization evolves, it’s important to align the management structure so that we can deliver programs and services to the community in the most efficient way possible,” says Gipps. “Ms. Marshall has contributed immeasurably to the Recreation Centre and I am looking forward to having her abilities brought to bear on projects in our electoral services department.”

A job posting to fill the vacancy left by Ms. Marshall has been posted to the FVRD’s web site, fvrd.ca.
