Last Friday, it snowed from Sunshine Valley all the way east to Manning Park. That represents good news for ski aficionados.

Manning Park Resort have marked their Nordic opening date for Nov. 25 and 26, then open seven days a week starting Dec. 2. Downhill skiers have to wait until Dec. 2 and 3, and it will open seven days a week from Dec. 8.

“The snow on Friday definitely got us in the mindset for opening day,” said marketing manager Robyn Barker in an email. “I had to brush about 10 centimetres off my car!”

They are currently putting together a complete list of events for winter. Classic events like the Torchlight Parade have already been scheduled.
