A blockbuster-good time was had by all at LEGO Expo 3 in Hope

With more than 300 visitors, organizers say this year’s event a success

A good time was had by all during the most recent installment of LEGO Expo, the fundraising brainchild of the District of Hope Ratepayer’s president, John Duff.

Created in 2017 to raise money to upgrade the Silver Creek Elementary School’s (SCE) playground, which has now been completed, the event has been expanded to raise funds for not only the elementary school, but also Park Street Manor.

As in previous years, the Vancouver LEGO Club transformed the SCE gymnasium with not only dozens of displays, but also with tables and totes of LEGO for personal building.

It “was a great time and the kids loved it,” said Shirley Corbeil in an email to The Hope Standard.

“There were (about) 300 people through the door on Saturday … (and) at one point, we had four RCMP officers playing and interacting with the kids. It was great!” she continued.
