The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre (FVCDC) holds its annual Swing with Bling Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Title sponsor of the event is Abbosford Nissan, located at the Fraser Valley Auto Mall.

The tournament, taking place at Fraserglen Golf Course from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include a flower wall where participants can purchase bud vases for $50, with a $35 charitable tax receipt issued.

There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, including a Loge package for the upcoming 2024/25 season,  provided by the Abbotsford Canucks.

This year's event features a new nine-hole format.

Participants will enjoy a welcome mimosa and wrap before tee-off, followed by a burger buffet lunch hosted by The Glen Bar & Grill. In addition to the golf, there will be opportunities to connect with fellow community members and business leaders.

Proceeds from the tournament will support the Calm Curriculum, a specialized program to help children, parents/caregivers and educators with the strategies to cope with their stresses and strengthen self-regulation skills and social emotional well-being.

"Abbotsford Nissan's generous donation will strengthen these vital services to families," said Karen Dickenson Smith, CEO of FVCDC.

"We are grateful for their partnership and the positive impact it will have on the children and youth we support."

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Visit fvcdc.org/swing-with-bling to register for the event.

The FVCDC provides free, community-based developmental support services to more than 4,000 children and youth with diverse needs across the Fraser Valley, including in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope.
