'Sick Civic' Hawkey with Honda Civic

Epic Abbotsford Car Giveaway Contest – ‘One Sick Civic’

The Abbotsford News presents the latest contest with a prize customized Honda Civic worth $25,000.

General manager of the Honda Way, Pat Loehndorf, is turning up the heat in 2012 with a massive giveaway in conjunction with the Abbotsford News and its 90th anniversary celebrations.

He teamed up with a group of local auto shops to refurbish a 2001 Honda Civic Coupe.

The contest, My Sick Civic, involved a vehicle makeover, including wild paint; graphics; new tires, exhaust and stereo; and other tricked-out modifications. The Sick Civic also comes equipped with an extended warranty, since it is a late-model car.

“The number-one priority of the group is to ensure that the vehicle is safe on the road, but that it is also something to be proud of,” Loehndorf said.

The multimedia contest started Jan. 27 and is now in full swing. The car will be displayed in various high-traffic areas to view and there will be additional ways to enter to win. No purchase is necessary to participate.

“We understand that purchasing a vehicle can be an expensive process, so this is simply our way of giving back to the community of Abbotsford the best way we know how,” Loehndorf said.

“It is also a way to showcase the talents of our local sponsors who have really amped up the process for this build.”

There will be four finalists chosen from the various multimedia participants, with a fifth random finalist announced at a Heat home game in March. The eventual winner of the ‘My Sick Civic’ contest will be determined at the Heat’s final home game on April 15, during an on-ice presentation.

Loehndorf considers his collective team to be a passionate group of automotive artists, collaborating to create a masterpiece.

“There is a little bit of all of us in the final outcome, and it is absolutely awesome!”

How to enter: Visit the contest page at www.abbynews.com and answer the trivia question. You can also view photos of the Honda transformation to a ‘Sick Civic’ at The Abbotsford News Facebook page. See the video teaser. Good luck. Full rules also posted on Facebook.
