Sunshine Valley’s songbird Ashley Pater has released a Christmas tune with the message that everything will be all right.

Pater, who divides her time between Maple Ridge and Sunshine Valley, released This Christmas on Nov. 29. The key message and line, “this Christmas everything will be all right,” is meant to be a comforting statement amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“This is a time that should be full of celebrations and joy. A time meant to be shared with family and friends,” a statement from the artist read. “So turn on the fireplace and play this song at your virtual gatherings.”

Pater recently won an Excellence by a Youth Artist award Nov. 19, from the Fraser Valley Music Awards. The awards are an initiative of CIVL Radio, the campus radio station at the University of the Fraser Valley, broadcast via the radio station and online this year. Pater won because of her high-quality songs, explained 101.7 FM station manager Aaron Levy.

“The time that an artist puts into presenting a professional recording is always something that will be rewarded by judges,” he said. “She has a great voice. She’s done a great job of developing an image that you can see she’s starting to brand herself and promote herself that way and I think that’s really effective.”

“Stay safe. Stay healthy because this Christmas, everything will be alright!,” Pater stated. More about the artist can be found at ashleypater.com.
