The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation’s (FVHCF) second annual Fraser Valley Grand Gala is moving ahead this year as a virtual event.

The event, presented by Snowcrest Food Ltd., takes place Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. It will bring together donors, supporters, public officials and community leaders from across the eastern Fraser Valley to celebrate and support hospitals and health care in the region.

Guests will receive a “Gala in a Box” kit along with a partial tax receipt (if applicable), a restaurant gift certificate, a Winter Wonderland-themed mask, and other treats and goodies. An online link to the gala will be sent with ticket purchases.

The Grand Gala features a photo contest for guests to submit their best “glam shots” in their formal Winter Wonderland-themed or pyjama attire with the Gala in a Box goodies for a chance to win prizes.

“The foundation is 100 per cent committed to supporting the response to COVID-19 and flattening the curve again,” said Liz Harris, FVHCF executive director.

“Our support of the hospitals is dependent on fundraising and we are grateful for those who are still willing to support despite the changes to a virtual format.”

The Grand Gala will have a number of online auction items, such as local B.C. getaways, wine tastings, and other experiences. Participants must be registered to bid.

The event will also have raffle draws, which will soon be available for purchase on the website.

Tickets are $150 per person. Visit fvhcf.ca or call 1-877-661-0314 for more information or to purchase tickets, register to bid in the auctions and view sponsorship opportunities.

The FVHCF funds for equipment and programs funded or endorsed by Fraser Health. The foundation serves Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
