Planting, weeding, gathering garbage and collecting recyclable objects.
It’s just part of what the Communities in Bloom volunteers in Hope have been up to the last few weeks, as their busy work season ramps up.
They were out in full force last week on Sixth Avenue, spending a day climbing up and down berms on the side of the road, cutting back shrubs, pulling weeds, planting fresh greenery and sweeping up the mess.
There was also a contingent of volunteers who made their way up Silver Skagit this month, cleaning up after people who left huge messes behind. Part of that mess was a bunch of old propane cylinders, which have now been recycled through Canyon Shell.
