Some letters were detailed, some were sparse. Lincoln Van Reeuwyk’s letter just read “Dear Santa, I want cars.”

Whatever form the letters took and however long the wish lists were, the letters written at the annual Letters to Santa event at the Hope Library went straight into a mailbag held by the man in red himself. The Dec. 8 event was well-attended with kids ranging in age from newborn to pre-teens, who lined up for a moment to talk with Santa Claus.
