It’s time for everyone to come together and celebrate Canada Day. July 1 will be filled with fun in Memorial Park and 6th Ave. Park.

Opening ceremonies, including the singing of O’Canada and the official flag raising will begin at 10 a.m. The Canada Day Car Show will fill the park with people and their favourite vehicles at 10 a.m. as well.

The morning event is also a chance to get yourself a piece of Canada Day cake, at Buy-Low Foods, while supplies last.

Then at 4 p.m. it’s time to head over to 6th Ave. Park.

There will be food trucks on site as well as a beer garden. The Axewood Crew will demonstrate axe throwing, and kids can jump on inflatables that will be on site.

Live music will keep the party going through the evening, including a performance by the band Appaloosa, a favourite at many Hope events.

And, if weather allows, the night will be capped off with a technicolour display of fireworks, beginning at 10:05 p.m. The show will be presented by Vancouver pyrotechnique company FireWX.
