This summer, artists in Hope will be throwing open their studio doors for the public.
Four local artists have created the Hope Art Crawl 2022, and they are inviting others to join them in creating a memorable community event where they promote, share and sell their artwork. The four artists are Sabine Keil, Dawn Thomas, Pattie Desjardins and Billie Shauer.
The event will run over a weekend in August, and will be a self-guided tour to participating artists’ locations. The group is creating a brochure map which will be circulated for free in the community and beyond, along with a social media campaign and signs for each location.
All of the art in the Art Crawl must have been created by the artists registering, and the event is open to all artists in and around Hope. All types of art are welcome, including but not limited to photography, pottery, painting, beading, jewelry, Indigenous art forms, woodworking, glass, weaving and mixed media.
The group is hoping for a wide range of artists to really showcase the diverse talents of Hope’s artists. It’s a chance to meet potential clients, students, and to reinvest in the passion to create.
Businesses that sell art are also invited to register for the event.
In order to put the brochure together and begin the advertising campaign, the group has set a deadline for registering artists of May 12. The weekend of the Hope Art Crawl is Aug. 13 and 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Artists can register on their own or as part of a group, and registration rates vary depending on group size.
