Story Time in the Park will be running its summer writing contest this year from July 3 to Aug. 11.
Writing kits can be picked up from the libraries in Hope and Agassiz, and at Family Place in Boston Bar. Everyone in the Fraser-Cascade region is welcome to submit their own stories for children.
The writing contest winner will see their book published and distributed to children attending Story Time in the Park next year. Last year’s winners Michelle Pelletier and Tracy Bonshor will be sharing their creativity on July 11 and August 29 in Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
Story Time in the Park is a free family literacy program that kicks off on July 3 in Memorial park. Each family receives the book of the week and can read along as a community member reads out loud to the group.
