They came, they saw, they made Chilliwack laugh, and now they’re ready for round five.

That’s right, The Comic Strippers are back.

Packing their purple bow ties, and not a whole lot else, this fake-male stripper troupe will be gyrating their way through the Chilliwack Cultural Centre once again on Feb. 8.

This appearance by Chip, Chip, Chip, Chip, Chip and Chipette is set to be another riot of ‘sexylarious’ improv comedy – and a sure-fire hit with their horde of adoring Chilliwack fans.

“This is not a show with comedians stripping; it’s improvisers playing fake male strippers putting on a comedy show. We want to make sure guys come to our shows, too. There’s no reason they shouldn’t because we’re not real strippers in any way. It’s not going to make you feel weird, that’s for sure,” said creator and performer Roman Danylo.

Oiled up and ready to make you laugh, the semi-undressed comedians put on a completely unscripted show, taking on audience suggestions to create a whole new genre of comedy. Comprised of some of Canada’s best improv comedians, The Comic Strippers know how to make each show uniquely exciting and entertaining. They won the “Best Live Production” award at The Canadian Comedy Awards 2016.

The Comic Strippers ability to create a hilarious unscripted show every time is second only to their over-the-top outrageousness – and as Roman goes on to reveal, their unmatched improv-impulses mean that every show is uniquely exciting and entertaining.

“As a performer, it’s pretty tough to beat improv. There’s nothing more exciting and freeing than making it up in the moment – and it also means there’s less preparing to do,” Danylo said. “And there’s such incredible comic chemistry between us all that I’m constantly amazed and entertained by what each Chip brings to the show. It’s just an explosion of ridiculousness every time.”

“It’s perfect for people that don’t really want to go to a real stripper show; they just want to have a bit of campy twist on that kind of a night.”

Comic Strippers is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $39, and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).
