Christmas Riddle (by Linda Kerr)
What’s more fun than Christmas? Spending Nov. 17, any time between 10:00 in the morning and 4:00 in the afternoon at the Legion — for the Annual Beta Sigma Phi Christmas Craft Sale.
There are tables and tables full of handmade stocking stuffers — and maybe even the stockings, themselves. There’s coffee, and there are snacks, door prizes and the chance to meet your neighbours who are also on the lookout for interesting crafts that they maybe can’t make themselves.
The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority has organized this Craft sale since the eighties, and, as usual, all of the money you drop in the jar as you come in (there is no charge for admission), plus all the funds raised by selling the tables, will go to make someone’s Christmas that much more festive. All of the collected funds go to local charities in Hope.
‘Tis the season to be saving, and nowhere in the Lower Mainland can you find handmade crafts at the prices these presenters manage. Come to the Hope Legion Hall Saturday, Nov. 17.
Brighten your holiday — and someone else’s!
Fraser Canyon Hospital Auxiliary raises $19,000 (by Mary Birchmore)
Auxiliary to Fraser Canyon Hospital and Fraser Hope Lodge express our thanks and appreciation to all the donors and people of our community of Hope who support us with great generosity!
With over 300 items to bid on, amazing! Thank you to our newly elected Mayor Peter Robb and Sylta Hellner, manager of Fraser Hope Lodge, for their kind words of appreciation to the people and community of Hope. We raised approximately $19,000. The money will go towards much-needed equipment in our hospital and lodge. Our silent auction raffle, first prize of $1500 went to Cliff Mueller. The second prize of $300 went to Mark Mills; the $200 third prize went to Yvonne Anderson. Congratulations.
Look forward to next year’s auction!
