James Moran of Guerilla Q will be competing in Chilliwack Ribfest July 28 to 30.

Chilliwack is set for a weekend of ‘finger-licking goodness’ as Ribfest is returning for its second annual run.

Five teams known as ‘ribbers’ will once again compete over the course of the three-day event competing for prizes, and rights to be crowned ‘ruler of all things smoky, saucy and sensational’.

Like last year, one of the five competing ribbers will be Chilliwack’s very own Guerilla Q and owner James Moran, going up against Gator BBQ (Simcoe, ON), Smoke Dem Bones (Penticton, BC) Prairie Smoke and Spice (Regina, SK) and Boss Hogs (London, ON).

The event is set to run from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28 at Vedder Park and will feature more than just ribs. Multiple other vendors will be on-site offering various foods from hot dogs to mini doughnuts and lemonade.

In addition there will be a beer garden, as well as a kid zone featuring a bouncy castle.

Live bands and DJs will also take the stage, providing non-stop in-house entertainment from start to finish on all three days.

Gates open at 3 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday, with festivities coming to a close at 10 p.m. on both nights. Sunday’s gates will open once again at 11 a.m., before closing at 9 p.m. to conclude the event. Tickets are available online via donation, with partial proceeds going to the Chilliwack Salvation Army.
