Letter: Calling for safe crosswalks

Editor,

I am concerned about the safety of the crosswalk located at 3 Avenue and Old Hope Princeton Way.

That road is the busiest in Hope. The crosswalk is on a hill, it is poorly lit and it is used heavily by big trucks.

It is dangerous for the many seniors, scooters and walkers that use that crosswalk. It would be so much safer if a pedestrian-controlled crosswalk was installed at that spot.

I do not know how things get done in the town but this is a safety matter. The crosswalk is also marked for turn-off to town centre.

Hope someone can do something.

If not possible at 3 Avenue and Old Hope Princeton Way, then at McDonald’s at Old Hope Princeton Way.
