VIDEO: Santa spotted in Hope, riding a fire truck

Father Christmas swapped his sleigh and reindeer for a fire truck this Thursday

Santa has been spotted in Silver Creek and instead of his regular sleigh and reindeer he chose a fire truck as his ride for the night.

The annual Silver Creek ride around is a tradition dating back to when the community had its own fire department.

This year a dozen children and their parents climbed onto the top of one truck and Santa hopped onto another to continue the Christmas tradition.

The entourage spent an hour touring Silver Creek, tossing candy canes, singing carols and spreading Christmas cheer to the residents of Silver Creek.

Fire chief Tom DeSorcy was on had to wish Hope and Silver Creek residents a safe holiday season. “We wish you well and as we say here at the fire department, we hope we don’t see you,” he said.
