Dog owner Andrew Michael Wallace worries rock salt spread on sidewalks to keep snow and ice away is damaging the paws of his fur buddy Buster. Emelie Peacock photo

LETTER: Hope dog owner worries rock salt hurts four-legged pals’ paws

Editor,

Hope’s post office put so much rock salt on the sidewalk it looks like a river.

Rock salt burns dogs’ and cats’ feet.

I would like to see people putting sand on sidewalks, driveways, etc. It’s a lot kinder to our four-legged sons and daughters.

I would like to say thank you to everyone for your loving, kindness and helping both me and Buster.

Andrew Michael Wallace
