Just writing to give a shout out to the wonderful folks at Gardner Chevrolet Buick GMC dealership in Hope, B.C. who came through for our son, Tyler, in a time of crisis.

Tyler recently relocated to Victoria, B.C., a place he loves and his dream home. Due to the coronavirus crisis he lost his job, his gym and a way forward.

As the crisis expanded, it became evident it was going to be long term.

When it was rumored the ferries were considering shutting down to the public and having supply trucks only, he realized he had to make a decision whether to return home.

Tyler was able to catch the last ferry of the day at 9 p.m. on March 22 and spent the night in his van at a rest stop on the outskirts of Vancouver. Sleep was difficult as he was sad to leave his friends, his paradise and the lovely peacocks in the park.

He managed 4 hours sleep before getting on the road home.

Just past Hope, B.C. his car started to stall and though he managed to start it he was unable to go more than 80 km per hour. He eventually found a turnaround and limped in to Hope, B.C. and the Gardner Chev car dealership.

Joey and his mechanics worked hard to find the cause and though it took a day or so, now have our son back on the road and he is still working his way home.

To the good folks at Gardner, we would like to say: Thank you so much for helping our son get back on the road safely, especially given these trying circumstances. We are forever grateful for your exemplary service and caring.

My son told us your city is well-named…it gave him HOPE when things are not looking great…..wonderful human beings in Hope and reassuring during this chaos that we are all in this together….

We are still praying our son makes it home safely but are forever grateful to Joey, Judy and crew at Gardner Chev and the great folks of Hope BC. Thank you!
