Dear Editor,

Isn’t your health important?

I’m surprised why not more people are taking advantage of Hope’s recreation centre. It has a fantastic cardio room and a state of the art exercise gym. Unlike free weights, the gym’s machines are geared for specific body areas, thus avoiding stress elsewhere—-of course there are also weights, but with a variety of benches and contraptions to help do just that.

If swimming laps is your thing, check out their pool, which includes a sauna, a steam room and a hot tub. Once you’re done there, there is the shower room, so when you leave, you leave clean.

Is it expensive one might wonder. I don’t know but drop-ins on Mondays and Wednesdays are only two bucks, and on Fridays they’re half-price—-that would be $2.25 for me because I’m over 55. They have a yearly membership, which is most certainly a bargain, but if you get one on Canada Health Day (May 12) there will be a discount.

Your health is important. The Hope Recreation Center is located at 1005 - 6th Avenue, which is between the CNR tracks and Kawkawa Lake Road, and their phone number is: 604-869-2304. See you there!
