Chilliwack RCMP say a 22-year-old Chilliwack "high-risk offender" was arrested Oct. 24 on McNaught Road for firearms and drug-trafficking.

Chilliwack RCMP officers together with the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team executed the search warrant.

"The search warrant resulted in the safe apprehension of Kusone Robinson, a high-risk offender well known to the Chilliwack RCMP," said Cpl. Carmen Kiener.

Robinson was designated under the Repeat Violent Offending Intervention Initiative (REVOII) Program by the Chilliwack RCMP in 2023.

Robinson was spotted by the Chilliwack RCMP's priority target team driving in breach of his conditions. Police waited for a chance to safely arrest Robinson.

Chilliwack RCMP's frontline officers were able to gather evidence to show Robinson was actively involved in drug trafficking in Chilliwack. Investigators found out Robinson was staying in McNaught Road residence, which lead to the Oct. 24 search warrant being executed, and several individuals were safely arrested, including Robinson.

As a result of the subsequent search of the residence, evidence of additional criminal code offences were located. Robinson is currently being held in custody while the court process continues.

Robinson is facing the following charges:

    Carrying a Concealed Weapon;
    Careless Storage of a Firearm;
    Possession of a Firearm;
    Obstructing a Police Officer;
    Failing to Comply with a Probation Order;
    Failing to Comply with a Release Order;
    Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; and
    Driving While Prohibited.

The collaborative investigation between units brought this investigation to charges.

"It speaks to the commitment we have in maintaining a safe community for the residents of Chilliwack and keeping drugs and firearms off our streets," Kiener said, referring to the program that targets repeat offenders. "We want to thank the Lower Mainland IERT for their assistance in the safe and successful conclusion of this investigation."
