The list for those participating in this year’s “Best in Hope” Halloween Decorating contest is here.

This year, residents can vote online on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 (via the Hope BC Bulletin Board), or in-person at Hope Optical, for the People’s Choice: Home and People’s Choice: Business. Eight homes and seven businesses are participating in the event, which is hosted by the Bulletin Board, a Facebook group dedicated to Hope residents. Organized by Crystal Sedore, the Bulletin Board admin, and Sarah Preson, from Kerfuffle Creations, the participating businesses and homes have until Oct. 30 to dress up in their Halloween best.

Residents are asked to not disturb homeowners when viewing the decorated homes.

The following homes and businesses are participating:

Homes:

684 Park Street

240 7th Avenue

825 5th Avenue

535 Stuart Street

630 6th Avenue

661 Yale Street

524 Hemlock Avenue

385 King Street

Businesses:

Kerfuffle Creations

All participants will be visited by four judges, who will decide Hope’s best decorated business and home. Aside from the People’s Choice, judges will pick winners for other categories: Best Entrance, Scariest, Wow Factor. Winners will be announced at the “witching hour” of Halloween and will receive a prize for their efforts. This year, participants have the chance to win one of many gift baskets — donated by local businesses — and certificates.
