Multiple trailers damaged in early-morning fire near Chilliwack

Fire happened around 3 a.m. on Obyrne Road in Chilliwack River Valley

Multiple unoccupied RVs were damaged following an early-morning blaze on Obyrne Road just outside of Chilliwack on Saturday.

The Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department was called to the fire which happened around 3 a.m. on Feb. 24.

One trailer caught fire, which spread to other RVs, said Staff Sgt. Layne Penner with Chilliwack RCMP. There were no injuries reported, he added.

According to reports on social media, the fire happened at Chilliwack River RV Campground.

Crews from the Chilliwack Fire Department (CFD) also attended the blaze upon request for mutual aid by the Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department fire chief, CFD assistant fire chief Chris Wilson stated in an email to The Chilliwack Progress.
