With the holiday season just around the corner, Artisans Attic and Fudgery Gift Shoppe offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience filled with locally crafted goods, global fair-trade items and holiday-themed treats.
Owner Lorraine McDonald has been at the helm since 2015, curating a store known for its quality and originality.
A key highlight at Artisans Attic and Fudgery is its hand-poured, homemade fudge. McDonald credits their “fudgerist,” Joanne, for keeping the selection fresh and seasonal: with 27 to 30 flavours on offer, it’s a year-round favourite that draws fans from across Canada.
“With Christmas coming up, we’ll be bringing out special flavours like Winter Minter, with mint and marshmallow cream, and Holly Berry, which has berry and pistachio," McDonald says, noting their online store now reaches far beyond Hope. “People from all over the world really like our fudge."
In addition to fudge, McDonald’s team crafts delicious treats like cinnamon-sugar hot nuts, and peanut, pecan and almond brittles.
She's especially excited about their new holiday additions, including sugar-free, gluten-free and keto-friendly candies to satisfy customers seeking health-conscious options. “We like having a nice mix – something for everyone,” she says.
For McDonald, maintaining high-quality standards is crucial. “Everything we carry has to be unique and well-made,” she says.
This philosophy also guides her selection of local and international artisans. “We don’t want to carry anything that other stores have,” she explains.
Beyond sweets, Artisans Attic and Fudgery offers a diverse selection of handcrafted items, many sourced from B.C. and across Canada, alongside fair-trade finds from Peru, Guatemala, India and Indonesia. Customers can browse unique Christmas ornaments, dinnerware and nativity scenes – all carefully chosen to bring the warmth of the season home.
“We’ve totally revamped the store layout,” McDonald adds, inviting customers to explore the fresh displays, adding the shop also remains a top spot for locally made Rambo T-shirts, socks and souvenirs.
Whether you’re in search of festive treats or unique gifts, Artisans Attic and Fudgery provides a shopping experience that showcases creativity and quality, celebrating the best of local and global artisans this holiday season.
