Another popular fast food chain is coming to Chilliwack.
Church’s Texas Chicken will be paired up in a standalone building with the drive-thru Starbucks in front of the new Save-on Foods at Cottonwood Centre. All three businesses are still in construction.
There are 16 Church’s locations throughout the Lower Mainland, but the closeset currently is in Surrey. Chilliwack’s new location isn’t listed on the company’s website yet, but one sign has been posted on construction fencing outside the building site.
Church’s started in 1952 in Texas, and expanded into Canada with a location in Vancouver in 1979. Their menu features all the usual offerings for fried chicken, from macaroni sides to a full roster of burgers and wraps.
It’s not the first chicken place to pop up recently in town. Earlier this year, Popeyes Chicken opened up on Yale Road, across the street from 7-Eleven.
Cottonwood Centre will also have a Cora’s Restaurant, Old Navy and a Club 16, all of which are being built at the back of the Save-on Foods.
Church’s Chicken and Cottonwood Centre have not responded to The Progress to confirm an opening date for the two standalone businesses.
