The storm that upended lives in the Fraser Valley also led to cancelled meetings in Hope.
Both the District of Hope and the Fraser Cascade School District had to cancel meetings while staff dealt with fast-changing situations around town, notably the care of about 1,200 people caught in Hope while driving through.
The council meeting of Nov. 22 was cancelled, as was the Nov. 23 school board meeting (which was a postponement from the prior week).
But now that the dangers have passed, meetings are carrying on as usual.
The District of Hope’s next meeting will be held on Dec. 13 in person in council chambers. The school district will meet Dec. 14, and are still meeting virtually, with the public able to dial into the audio and listen.
