Following the retirement of Bryon Massie, Davy Lee has been named the new Officer-in-Charge (Superintendent) of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment (UFVRD). The UFVRD covers a large area that includes Chilliwack, Hope, Boston Bar, Harrison Hot Springs, the District of Kent and many communities represented by the Stó:lō and Nlaka’paumux First Nations.
Lee is a veteran of policing, with over three decades on the job.
He started 31 years ago in Manitoba, where he worked in the Morris, Island Lake, Norway House, Sprague, and Steinbach detachments. In 2012, Lee earned the rank of Inspector and took on the role of Regional Duty Officer for the RCMP’s Lower Mainland Detachment.
In 2015 he became the Operations Officer for the UFVRD and now he’s taking on the top job.

“I look forward to keeping the momentum going in meeting the challenges ahead with the continued growth of the Upper Fraser Valley, modernization and community stakeholder relationships,” he said. “I remain optimistic that the insurmountable circumstances of late have made us stronger, more resilient and closer than ever before.”
Assistant Commissioner Maureen Levy, District Commander, Lower Mainland District wished Lee “all the best” in his new role.
“His ongoing dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to both his staff and the communities he oversees is truly noteworthy,” she said.
Lee’s predecessor, Bryon Massie, was on the job for three years starting in 2018.
