An 11-month RCMP investigation has led to the dismantling of an alleged drug trafficking operation in the eastern Fraser Valley.

Police got started in November of 2019, targeting a person suspected of bringing illegal drugs into Chilliwack. The investigation by the Chilliwack Crime Reduction Unit Drug Section (CRU) led to the execution of several search warrants.

RCMP knocked on the door of a Princess Avenue (Chilliwack) residence in February. They were back in March, with search warrants for residences on Ponderay Street (Chilliwack) and Dixon Road (Abbotsford).

After a six-month lull, they wrapped up the investigation in September, storming into residences in the 8400-block of Midtown Way, the 9500-block of Windsor Street and the 45000-block of Knight Road.

During those searches, RCMP seized illegal drugs believed to be cocaine, cash, ammunition, 15 rifles, handguns and paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking

“A complex and timely RCMP investigation has resulted in the seizure and prevention of an extensive amount of illegal drugs and firearms from reaching the streets,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail. “We remain committed to safety of the citizens of the community.”

Following a review of evidence, RCMP will forward a report to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) for their assessment of Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) and criminal charges.

RCMP remind everyone who witnesses anything they believe to be suspicious to contact police at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers (anonymously) at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
