Early-morning apartment fire quickly contained in Abbotsford

Fire occurs at Waterleaf condos on Whatcom Road at around 6 a.m., residents evacuated

A fire in an apartment building in Abbotsford led to residents being evacuated Friday morning (July 9).

The fire occurred at approximately 6 a.m. at the Waterleaf condos in the 2200 Block of Whatcom Road.

A person who said she is a resident of the building said the blaze started in the recycling room but was quickly contained by firefighters and didn’t spread to other areas.
