The evacuation order for Huntingdon Village and a small area west of Sumas Way between the border to Lonzo Avenue has been rescinded.
Abbotsford mayor Henry Braun made the announcement Wednesday (Nov. 17) at noon.
An evacuation alert will remain in place for the areas and there is the possibility than an order could be re-issued.
As a reminder, an alert is the time to get prepared to leave your home on short notice, pack your bags, your emergency plan and important documents and mementos. Following that, listen to local emergency officials.
An order states for all to leave the area immediately, follow the directions of local emergency officials and evacuate using the route recommended.
For everyone involved with the rescind, it is recommended to fill the gas tank of your personal vehicle and prepare for a minimum of three days of food and essential supplies.
