Ten months after moving into their new premises, a fire at building where Hope Outdoors is has caused damage to the business as well as to the apartments above it on Sunday.

Firefighters fought the blaze from the afternoon to the evening.

Resident Isabella Marlatt first heard of her home being on fire when she received a call from a friend’s mother and she biked over.

“I got there a cried,” she said. Marlatt said she went to find her friends and received consolation from them.

One of her close friends, Paris Grammatikos has created a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign. She hopes to raise $900 to replace what Marlatt lost and to buy food and clothes.

“I am hosting it for Isabella she has lost her home to the fires today, and needs as much help as possible” said Grammatikos.

Marlatt said she lost her clothes and hoodies, but not much else.

Hope Fire Department chief Tom DeSorcy said he had no details to offer at this point in time.
