Fraser Valley resident launches podcast highlighting those who sacrifice for our safety

Team Ten Eight podcast features interviews with first responders, law enforcement and more

A Fraser Valley resident has launched a podcast that he states Canada’s only podcast dedicated to the people who serve and sacrifice to keep those around them healthy, safe and secure.

The Team Ten Eight podcast, hosted by Christian Lane, features interviews with front line health care workers, first responders, law enforcement and the military.

The first episode was shared on Feb. 28 and there are now nine episodes. The Team Ten Eight name was inspired by the radio code (10-8), which means “in service”.

“I‘ve been in law enforcement for over 20 years and interviewing has been a big part of that”, Lane stated in a press release. “I started this passion project because I’ve met some incredible people over those years who, for one reason or another, have chosen a career “in service” to others and I think those are stories worth sharing.”

According to the press release, the show provides the listener the opportunity to hear from the very people we all rely on in our times of need and provides a perspective not often shared.

“All too often it’s bad news we hear about the military, police or first responders,” Lane stated. “With Team Ten Eight, I want to give listeners a chance to learn a little about the human being behind the uniform and, hopefully, see that we’re so fortunate to have these people in our lives and our communities.”

Lane said on his website that he believes their stories deserve a bigger audience.

“I started this passion project because I’ve met some incredible people over the years who, for one reason or another, have chosen a life “in service” to others and I think those are stories worth sharing,” he said.

Past episodes include interviews with members of the RCMP, Canadian Armed Forces, a nurse, a correctional officer and more.

Team Ten Eight is available on Apple, Google, Spotify, and most other podcast platforms or at teamteneight.com/podcast.
